Content Advertising: Why video advertising does it best
As a production company, we’re partial to videos as a medium (obviously), but we swear it’s more than just superficial love. Not only do we truly love producing videos, we genuinely believe they are the best marketing tool for content advertising.
Why you’re behind in advertising if you don’t brand yourself through video.
Technology has taken over our world, to the point that no one bothers to read anything if they have to scroll past the first screen (this blog is the exception, of course.) It’s much easier to get all of the information in a video, hence why Instagram and Snapchat are so popular. It’s too time-consuming to type out a long news story when we can now record someone saying it. The possibilities are endless with video: information isn’t limited to text as you can add in animation, voice overs, and tonal inflections. These all make your message more interesting to the audience, causing it to stick in their head.
It’s the best salesperson on your team.
While video can’t replace a human, it can help communicate your message and ensure that the context comes across clearly. Not to mention, it gives some ease to cold sales. People are much more likely to take a quick peek at the video you send them rather than read the pages of a long brochure.
Your public relations person will thank you.
From a PR perspective, videos provide a clear, concise summary of your company without the heavy lifting of reading. A brand video is also an accessible and efficient way to acquire quotes and talking points. A journalist can quickly learn the ins and outs of what you do, increasing the possibility that they’ll write about you. Videos help improve your SEO, too. The more the video is engaged, the better your page rank, and the higher your SEO ranking.
The statistics say it all.
The bottom line is that video marketing is on the rise, and there are numbers to prove it. In their report, Invodo found that print and text are on their way out, and video is taking over: 74% of all internet traffic in 2017 will be video. Hubspot created this cool infographic that says 87% of online marketers feature a video on their brand website, and 59% of executives agree that if text and video are available on the same page, they’ll choose the video.
This is a big deal! It means that if you aren’t communicating via video, your message is going to get caught in the noise. If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many is a video worth?
